Pointe des Chateaux

Pointe des chateaux

La Pointe Des Châteaux is the most visited site of the archipelago of islands of Guadeloupe!

Arm of land stretched towards the Atlantic, La Pointe des Châteaux is one of those grandiose places where the earth delivers to the ocean its last fight. Cliff dug with tiny bays and coves, these are as many indentations of sand and rocks nestled at the foot.

The Cross of the Pointe des Châteaux weights 9 tons and is 10 meters high. It was erected in celebration of the centenary of the diocese, on the initiative of the parish priest of Saint-François, Father Jean-Baptiste Lahondèses.

La Pointe des Châteaux shelters within it a rare fauna and a flora of which certain species are endemic. Several dozens of migratory and nesting birds frequent the site
